2021 Call Sam Scholarship Program

At Sam Bernstein Law, we appreciate the value of higher education and understand how difficult it can be for many people to achieve this worthwhile goal. Since our inception, we have remained committed to improving the lives of our clients as well as the people who live in the Michigan communities we serve. 

A college degree or vocational school education is a priceless possession. Those with college degrees or technical certifications are more likely to find good paying jobs that lead to fulfilling careers in fields they enjoy. However, this “priceless” commodity comes at a high cost. Many students struggle to pay tuition and other expenses without borrowing thousands of dollars, resulting in student loan debt that can take years to repay. 

As part of our commitment to the Michigan community, we launched Call Sam Scholars. This scholarship program was created for the 2021-2022 school year to help students across Michigan pursue their educational goals. 

Call Sam Scholars awarded ten students a scholarship of $5,000. The scholarship program was open to Michigan residents in their senior year of high school, as well as students currently attending Michigan colleges or vocational/technical schools. 

“We are proud to offer this exciting opportunity in helping us achieve our goal of making higher education more accessible to Michigan students,” said Mark Bernstein, president of the Sam Bernstein Law Firm. 

During the application process, students were encouraged to reflect on their personal experiences and the impact their community had on their goals for the future. For the Bernstein family, the importance of education is deeply personal, which inspired the creation of Call Sam Scholars.

“We understand in our family just how important it is to get an education, how hard it is to pay for an education, and now we’re just trying to do our share to make it as affordable as possible,” added Mark Bernstein.

The 2021 Call Sam Scholars program was one way we were able to expand access to Michigan’s higher education schools for students who need extra support. We are honored to have invested in Michigan students as they take their next steps in their educational journey.
