Michigan Foster Care Closet

Michigan Foster Care Closet is a local organization that provides clothing, accessories, toys and many other items to children and parents in the foster care community. They provide the necessary items it takes to raise a child in foster of any age. Ranging from babies and up, families are able to come shop 4 times a year and get everything they may need to support the children within their foster home. Without an organization like this, many people within several communities would still be struggling to get the proper care and items they need.

Whatever you may need to bring a child into your foster home, the Michigan Foster Care Closet has! With items such as car seats, booster seats, toys, shirts, pants, hats, gloves and many more, parents and children are able to breathe easy knowing that this organization is there to support them and make their lives that much easier. Each child that comes to the Michigan Foster Care Closet will be able to leave with about a week’s worth of clothes. Along with seasonal items that they may need like a swimsuit for the summer, a thick jacket for the winter or even a pair of sneakers to go to school in.

For many children, this is the first time they’ve ever had the opportunity to choose their own things, make their own decisions and get whatever it is they want! Aside from the many physical items they may receive, these children are also able to build their confidence and self-esteem that may be missing due to whatever it is that they have been through. Michigan Foster Care Closet plans to utilize their donation funds to help support their Blue Jeans for Back To School campaign. Empowering students to feel confident on their return to the new school year.
