BACKGROUND

Lisa Screen brings over two decades of legal experience to The Sam Bernstein Law Firm, with a distinguished career spanning criminal prosecution and insurance litigation. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Law in 2000. Before joining the plaintiff’s bar in 2022, Ms. Screen spent nearly ten years defending first- and third-party auto insurance claims, including uninsured and underinsured motorist benefit cases, for major insurance carriers.

Her legal journey began in criminal law, where she served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Wayne County, Detroit. During her tenure, she was specially assigned to the Homicide Division and successfully prosecuted several high-profile cases. Notably, she secured murder convictions in cases where the victim’s body was never recovered—demonstrating her tenacity and skill in the courtroom. Ms. Screen has tried over 250 jury trials, earning a reputation for her aggressive and effective litigation style.

Earlier in her career, she practiced medical malpractice defense, representing healthcare professionals and institutions in complex liability cases. Her broad legal background gives her a unique perspective and strategic edge in personal injury litigation.

Lisa is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Outside of the courtroom, she enjoys traveling, playing pickleball, practicing hot yoga and Pilates, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
