Call Sam Cars For Veterans

For many veterans, having access to reliable transportation is a critical step toward stability. 

COVID-19 hit our veterans especially hard and we wanted to provide additional support during a tough time. While The Sam Call Kitchen continued to provide support and resources to local veterans, it simply wasn’t enough. That’s why, in 2021, The Sam Bernstein Law Firm teamed up with Volunteers of America Michigan (VAOMI) to provide cars to veterans in need of dependable transportation. Our veterans have fought for our rights and freedoms, it’s only right that we all did our part to help them in return.

To honor the 10th anniversary of the Volunteers of America Detroit Veteran Housing Facility, VAOMI gave away 11 cars to 11 Michigan veterans on Veterans Day. Contributions from the community made this program possible.

We’d like to give a special thank you to Darren McCarty, former Stanley Cup Champion of the Detroit Red Wings, for helping to raise awareness about this need and hosting the giveaway event in support of VAOMI’s mission to reach their goal of providing support, shelter and assistance to Michigan veterans.

The Sam Bernstein Law Firm was proud to support Volunteers of America Michigan and the Cars Helping People program as part of the effort to give back to the people who have served our country. We hope these vehicles not only provided structure and a safe means of transportation, but also gave Michigan veterans a means of opportunity.
